For the first time in 144 years, the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) is holding their annual conference in Africa. Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the conference begins this Sunday, September 16th, and officially concludes on Wednesday September 19th.
Attendees of the IUMI Conference are employees from insurance companies and associations from IUMI member countries. The program is exclusively focused on the marine insurance industry and includes committee meetings, open forums, and council meetings that will provide in-depth information and thought-provoking discussion around this year’s conference theme: “Managing Emerging Risks and Exposures — Think the Unthinkable.”
Isabelle Therrien, Vice President of Falvey Cargo Underwriting, will be attending and is excited to be part of the conference program. On Tuesday, September 18th, Isabelle will be moderating the Cargo Workshop Panel. On Wednesday, September 19th, in her role as President of the Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters, she will be presenting information on the 2019 IUMI Toronto Conference in the Final Session, which will also include accepting the IUMI flag as part of the Canadian delegation.
