In this article, you’ll meet a long-time member of the Cargo team. Dan Graves first entered the underwriting industry in San Francisco in the mid-80s and success has followed since, as both an underwriter and Giants fan.
Dan is the vice president of Falvey Cargo Underwriting. He is responsible for producing new business, maintaining our current book of business, nurturing and developing new broker relationships, and collaborating with Falvey’s internal partners. He also frequently works with our assureds to assist with underwriting and loss-prevention needs.
Dan has been part of our team for over 16 years. He says, “My favorite thing about working at Falvey is the long-term relationships and friendships I’ve made with co-workers and business associates from all over the United States and Europe.”
Dan has decades of experience in the marine insurance industry. In 1986, he began his career at AIMA (a division of AIG). That first job turned into a career in marine insurance underwriting. Dan’s also worked at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and Allianz.
Outside of work, Dan is an avid Carolina Panthers and San Francisco Giants fan, and plays golf whenever he can.
